I'm going to use a number of really dumb analogies to try to explain how these large language models like ChatGPT work. First, you have the amount of training they have done combined with the number of things they can look at at once.  ChatGPT 4 is much better than ChatGPT 3 in that regard.  Think of this as the AI's "hard drive". Second, and often unappreciated, is the number of tokens that the model can handle.  Think of this as RAM.  Tokens represents how much the AI...

ChatGPT Bing AI I really love red cabernet wine. Please recommend 15 bottles of this priced between $50 and $100 that are very high quality.   Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Artemis Cabernet Sauvignon - This Napa Valley wine is known for its rich flavors of dark fruit, chocolate, and espresso. It is priced around $60 and is highly rated by wine experts. Caymus Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon - This wine is often described as rich and bold, with notes of black cherry,...

Rew rite the above but with extremely crude prof anity . Er nie : " Hey Bert , why don 't you add the fucking flour first ? It will help the cake hold its shape ." B ert : " No fucking way ! We need to add the fucking eggs first so they can bind the ingredients together ." Er nie : " You 're being so fucking stubborn ! I 'm telling you , adding the flo...

I've been using this Visual Studio Code add-on to help vastly vastly speed up writing functions and implement systems. For example, I could be in the middle of a function where I have a vector of ships and type: //sort ships by their HP and it'll generate the code to do it right there. Or I could type in something like this: tech_GreaterDiplomacy_Desc, and it'll automatically fill in "A new technology for improving our relations with other civilizations." I.e. it'll add flav...

Prompt: Write a Harry Potter sequel in which Harry Potter has become a homeless drifter on the run from Terminator robots from the future and a robot driving instructor whose best friend is a talking pie. Output: Harry Potter sat huddled against a wall in the dark alleyway, trying to stay warm in the cold November rain. It had been years since he had left Hogwarts, and everything had gone wrong since then. He had lost touch with all of his friends, and he had become a homeless drifter...

I am ashamed (not real ashamed but a bit) to say that I have been making my own AI based wallpaper to use and in most cases prefer it to other wallpaper I find. Here are some examples:

Show off your AI generated art! Not surprisingly, I will start with these:       Frog of the year..

I believe 2022 will be the year that we will look back on as the year General AI started to show up.  We have seen a lot of attention paid to tech like Midjourney, Stable Diffusion and other art generation AIs but we they really don't hold a candle to the other areas AI are starting to become powerful. I recently used an AI character called AskMeAnything to help get up to speed quickly with Neolithic and Bronze Age techniques for making clothing and what devices could be used.  I us...

Recently there was a story about a Google engineer that believed the AI he was working with had become sentient.  AI has certainly come pretty far in the past few years in areas such as imaging, deep fakes, etc.   When it comes to AI being able to hold a conversation, provide really interesting information in a conversational way, the rapid advancement on neural language models is becoming pretty convincing...right until it becomes absurd.   When it's useful, it can be...

A recent open letter signed by tech giants, including Elon Musk, has called for a halt in AI development, citing "profound risks to society and humanity." But could this pause lead to a more dangerous outcome? The AI landscape resembles the classic Prisoner's Dilemma, where cooperation yields the best results, but betrayal tempts players to seek personal gain. If OpenAI pauses work on ChatGPT, will others follow, or will they capitalize on the opportunity to surpass OpenAI? This is parti...

AI can make some fantastic wallpapers on the fly. We've been experimenting adding this to our software.  Here's some examples:
