Very soon we plan to release the very first Map Pack for Elemental: Fallen Enchantress.  In addition to a new hand crafted map for every map size along with new stamps to spice up random map generation, it also includes the full Anthys map. A gigantic map that contains the entire known world of Elemental (at least, as of ~150 AC).

Working ships/boats were promised at one point for War of Magic and I was disappointed they or other forms of water movement (portals, underground passages, etc) were not in Fallen Enchantress. I'll wait to see if or how well the AI uses them. I would like to see an add-on that would add more RPG elements (interactions between champions/heroes/rulers) to the game.

Yes, because the game allowing us to play with our friends would inconvenience you Wizaerd.

It would, because it would reallocate development effort, time, and resources from the SP to MP, all for a very small percentage of players.  So yes, it would greatly inconvienence me.

It won't as much as you like to think but I for one want you to be inconvienence so that I can have MP.

People keep saying it isnt a replacement game, but it is.When refunds were offered, the choice was hang in there and get incarnation 2 (then called an expansion) for free because,

"companies have a moral obligation to deliver what they say they're going to deliver and frankly, Stardock failed to deliver the game we said we were going to deliver."

or get a refund.I didnt want a refund then, i dont want one now.I also however dont want to be double charged for features.

Yes FE is the replacement game to make up for that POS War of Magic game.  But the DLC is not.........Let me repeat this.....Yes FE is the replacement game to make up for that POS War of Magic game.   The deal was that those who got WOM at a certain time in the past was going to get the next two GAMES for free.  They did not say that we were going to get the next two games PLUS all the DLC's for free.

Do you understand now......This is not rocket science.

Hmm my guess would be Fallen Enchantress - Last Hope.

Leaders and Heroes.

An expansion pack centered around making heroes unique

That said "Last Hope" isn't a bad thought, if nothing else we just suggested 1 trillion new ideas for expansion packs to Stardock

Many of the gamers that like MP for these kinds of games haven't bought this game yet. As an administrator of the Steam NO QUITTERS-group (under the name NQ-Luckystrike) I'm alot in touch with the Civ5 MP community, and I'm promoting Fallen Enchantress like a madman. People are intrested and think the game seems like something they'd want to play, but the first question I always get is; Does it have MP?

Bringing MP in will in a short termed view, as you say, reallocate some of the developers from other things. In the long run on the other hand MP is vital to broaden the community of Elemental; Fallen Enchantress. In the long run I'm convinced it's the way to go and that it will benefit the community as a whole.

Another thing; MP in this game would be bloody fun. That's an important factor as well.....

The Civ V MP community showed interest in FE only if it has MP?  Shocking...

MP could be fun for a few.  But it should most definitely not ever detract from the SP experience.  Frogboy said it best here:

MP should be the SP expereance but with more than one player.  You should still be able to look at your sities and units while other people are doing thier turn so no down time so to speak.  MP should not be a faster cut down version of the SP game. And you don't need any more balance that what is already in for SP.  And there should be a Hot seat (love to play more than one Faction/Civ/side at a time.

There aren't any lions in Elemental.
That's why it's an expansion! We already got the bears! Oh my!

Besides, Lionheart doesn't turn into LH.

I would like to see an expansion pack focused tactical battles & tactical battle maps - aka Warhammer miniature battles that would allow players the option to play short standalone battles using a point system for building their army. Then I can open FE for a long campaign game or a short battle. Perhaps, give the players a deck of tactical cards to play that affect the battle or the abilities of the engaged units.

Most, if not all, of us agree the great thypical singleplayer features should stay also in multiplayer. An example is of course the unit designer. Games like FE don't atract those who want 10-30 min rts multiplay. We want the singleplayer experience but versus humans, or a combination of humans and AI.

How would that work though?  Who can dedicate the hours/days/weeks that's required for a good long 4x game to a session of MP?  And you're counting on all of the other human players playing in character appropriate to their faction and using diplomacy?  I don't see it ever working.

I have played MP 4x games for a while now and we have no problem with this.  And as far as humans playing in character to the factions they are playing I say to you who cares that is one of the challanges of playing a human over a predictable AI.  I don't see the AI playing in character besides this is a sandlot game not the campaign.

Look for some reason you anti-MP people seem to think that the only way you can have MP in a 4x game is if they dumb it down to a RTS type game (I hate RTS) and balance everything in the game ad nausium.  NO THIS IS NOT WHAT WE WANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you want a fast 4x MP game then play a small or medium map (they don't really take that long to play)  I personally only play MP with the largest map settings and max opponets (some AI some Human)  And I rarely if ever play with strangers.  And these usally turn out to be some of the funnest and most challanging games of the 4x game I'm playing.

I play a lot of AOW:SM MP on large maps only and they are a blast. Yes a game can last from several weeks to several months (we don't care) how ever most usally last on the average of 3 to 5 sessions.  Keep in mine that my friends and I are not ADD kids and don't need a game to only last 5 minutes. In fact the longer the game the better.

People who bought WOM before the end of October 2010 get the upcoming expansion pack to FE for free as well.

As for MP, we've had a lot of internal discussions on this. Nothing has been decided. It won't be in the expansion though. IF we have it, it'll be in a future update. Just comes down to available development resources and deciding whether tactical battles would have to be supported to deliver the experience we would require.

If you add MP you have to also add the Tactical battles or there is no point.  That would be an example of dumbing down MP which would make people who want the SP experance with MP not play your MP.  Hence on paper would look like MP is not wanted.

Remember no one wants crappy MP we want a good SP expereance but in a MP setting.

Great link.  Thanks!

I don't have an issue with MP features, but I hate to see good SP features lost as a result, and that's always the trade-off.  I'd like to see FE meet expand on its SP potential, personally.  There are plenty of MP games out there already.

But it does not have to be. Look I don't want any SP features taken away. I want to be able to access them in a MP game. Nothing has to be traded off.  Factions don't have to be balanced any more than they already are for SP play. All we want it for the game to be opened up for humans to be opponets as well as AI.
