On Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition R2 SP2 - Impulse will not install Windowblinds 6. It claims it is not compatible with this version of Windows.Stardock Central will install it just fine. Also, on the Windowblinds website it states that it IS compatible with Windows Server 2003.

This has been fixed in the database.  Next time a WindowBlinds update is published Impulse will allow an install on 2003 Server.

Well when I open SCD I don't get any application updates only in impulse

We are making every effort to update things in SDC then Impulse which will prevent this issue.  You may see this from time to time, however updates are always safe to apply.

Not really an Impulse error but, every time I start or restart it launches MS Script debugger for the https://store.stardock.com/js/controls.js file at line 181. The line looks fine to me.

What OS are you running?  What browser?

Impulse is running fine for me except that installed versions and available update versions don't match between SDC and Impulse. In Impulse, WB keeps showing an available update that is older than the installed version. In SDC IP shows 3.20a[RC].033 available when 3.20.137 is installed, yet in Impulse IP shows 3.20.137 installed and 3.99[b].045 available. ObjectDockPlus is likewise messed up. In SDC it shows DriveScan,Enhanced File Dialog,Object Edit,Object Zip,SpringFolders and TreeView as available new downloads, yet none of these show up in Impulse. I'm confused.

SDC should not be showing those applications that Impulse is not showing.  We are looking into that.

As far as the version information goes, we are making every effort to update things in SDC then Impulse which will prevent this issue.  You may see this from time to time, however updates are always safe to apply.

Are you running any firewalls?Just Windows on Vista. Turned it off, no luck.In all the years I've owned a computer, not once have I ever had to turn off or disable the firewall, to install anything.Seems a little fishy, if I have to start now, just to use this. Hmmm...

Z71,

Impulse utilizes the Windows Update technology to do downloads (the technology is called BITS).  The way it works is that BITS is aware of bandwidth requirements of other applicaitons.  If other applications are using a lot of bandwidth, BITS will throttle to allow the bandwidth for the other applications.  Because application updates are usually something a user would like downloaded in the background, we have implemented Impulse using this technology.

Try stopping other downloads you have going and you will see BITS start to use the available bandwidth.

Ouch! While trying to start Impulse this morning:No logs that I could find, nothing in Event viewer.

Zubaz,

Still getting this now?

I noticed that. It installs in 3 phases. It downloads, downloads again and then installs. That's why the "usual" install time was way off, compared to other installers. I get that, now.

Not downloading anything. Updates and firewall are all turned off. Just trying to log-in and still can't.

I think I'll just wait for the final release, then ask questions, if need be.

What is currently available is very close to the final release.  At this time we would like to ask that users of Impulse to use Impulse exclusively going forward.  Only use SDC as a workaround if we cannot solve an issue in a timely fashion for you.  Otherwise, Impulse should be your only installer going forward.

Thank you for your time and support!

Well that's discouraging to hear. Impulse is so sluggish I feel like I'm back on my old PII 450Mhz machine, with dialup...........

And what about Archiving, and the History link?

If I can't get past the log-in screen, then it's no use. Guess I'm out of luck for the future.

And what about Archiving

That's a good question.

Two things that I find myself missing are the ability to sort the window and to look at detail information. I tend to sort the main SDC window by the update date and that capability seems to be missing from Impulse.

It would also be nice if the equivalent of the SDC install date and update date information were available from the main Impulse window.

Cheers

Are the remaining bits of ThinkDesk going to make their way onto the Impulse backend? The only programs there now are KeepSafe and Multiplicity.

Thanks

Okay, but I will still need to use SDC for IRC.
