Greetings and Happy New Years!

Over the years the time and effort to create quality skins has increased and so effective January 1, 2014, the royalty split between the skinner and WinCustomize is now 70% for the skinner and 30% for WinCustomize (it was previously a 50/50 split).

We hope that this will the first of many positive improvements that WinCustomize will be seeing this year.

Cheers!

Over the years the time and effort to create quality skins has increased

not just 'time' required for 'quality'... but also the laboriousness of having to provide for XP, Vista and 7... which was mandatory for a time... and even when it wasn't, still a good portion of purchasers were XP and couldn't be ignored...  I really felt for masterblind skinners at this stage... it must have seemed very onerous for the returns... no wonder they've drifted... I hope the more favourable incentive proves successful in injecting a bit of spice back into the place...  then it will definitely be a happy new year...

Its a great incentive methinks. Encourages skinners to push the envelope.

I agree it Encourages skinners. I also believe it is to actually encourage Master skinners to return and all those that have become in-active to become active again here on WC. I don;t think it has anything to do with pushing the enevolpe as many have or already do that and there is only so much pushing one can do. It's about quality and that is why they have earned their title.
