Actual impressions (putting aside the specs)

  • PS4 has a much better controller
  • XBOX One has slightly less sucky launch titles
  • XBOX One UI is more powerful
  • XBOX One has integrated Skype (this is actually quite useful)
  • PS4 has much better indie games market
  • I can’t visually tell the difference in graphics between them (I know the specs, I’m just saying in real world, I can’t tell the difference so far)

Got any questions? I’ll answer as best I can.

As a pure gamer I don't really see any worth to having an X-box in the near future.PS4 is smaller, more powerful and has the better first party title developers.

I will end up with both at some stage.

As a pure gamer, I'll stick to where games can be played at there best: The PC.

I will end up with neither.

(though I'm certain a PS4 will end up at my parents one day and I do occasionally play multiplayer games with family)

@Frogboy are there any features you think would add to either product that are missing? I'm talking about both marketed and new features.

I'm hoping nothing makes me want a console this time that won't come out on PC.

The thing that irks me the most about consoles is that they are pay-to-play for online.  (The Wii U isn't, but it's irrelevant to non-Nintendo fans)

Wow, nice boxes. You definitely need a new kitchen though.

I bought both, but flipped the One.

I've seen games running on both and I can tell the difference. PS4 looks better.

I'm am xbox guy normally as I like their exclusives better, but I'm sticking with the playstation this generation. Sony had done so many things right that it's hard to not stay with them.

I could afford both, but I don't have time for both.

Plus, I'll add, Killzone MULTIPLAYER is the best game of the launch. It's so well balanced and fun. So yeah....

I'm enjoying the Xbox One.  Definitely glad we got it.

Indeed, which is why I am interested in getting a PS3 before I even think about the next generation. I feel like I have abandoned Nintendo and Sony by accident, since the last Nintendo console my family got was the SNES and the NES before it, and the last Sony console we got was a PS2. Though I am still very interested in Mario and Zelda, especially SM3DL, SM3DW, and OoT3D, and I feel like I missed out on some of the best the Killzone series had to offer by only getting to play the original so far. Halo is my only vested interest in Xbox, and I only got into that by chance when my brother and I ended up with a friend's Xbox 360 and the perfect storm that was Halo 3: ODST.
