I strongly doubt anyone could do anything to or with this show to make it more 'offensive'.

As a religious person I'm offended by the original show: it degrades the whole purpose and spirit of all religions. The honest and humorous commentary contained much more truth.
This. Being religious has nothing to do with being a foolish, blinkered, culturally tone-deaf bigot.
I'm religious--admittedly Pagan, but I have Christian friends who find this sort of thing disgusting. The fact that some people consider this "religious" saddens them in the same way that Pagans such as myself get disgusted with the way fantasy films and faux-witchcraft tv series get conflated with our beliefs.
