are there actually new features?  the only new feature i've seen is the moving tabs.  is there a feature list anywhere?

Yay! News! Even better, it's good news! Looks like the wait is worth it. Can hardly wait for the beta. . .

Thanks for the update, Frogboy!

The smileys in the previous post are missing reflections...

Hrmm coloring function not new and improved actually. Though that is something that i'd like to do. (Hue rotating / adjustment option vs straight 'colorize')

Oh please do. The "coloring" in OD currently is kinda sad at best, and near impossible to match a recolored blind (accurately) without actually recoloring all the background images, and who wants to do that? WB does it for us extremely well, OD should too.

lol oh whatever!! it recolors, plenty of people just want to make a theme their favorite color and thats all hue rotating / etc is pretty straightforward, its on the list

oh and the reflections are not configurable in the program itself at the moment... you set them up in the skin file. though i do hope to put in some sliders to allow for adjustment.

for the upcoming release i've tweaked all the reflections in each of the applicable skins to be super-sharp looking "in my opinion", but if you don't agree go ahead and make a copy of the skin you want to change and modify it up, i've left comments in the skin definition files! to modify a skin just right click it in the skin browser and choose to open the skin folder.(note, you will want to make a copy, so that your changes don't get overwritten during updates)

That would be great because as we've seen before, most people like to be able to do it the easiest way.  Having them set-up in the skin file currently will probably limit the amount of people that will actually 1. know how to do it and B. actually do it.  IMO, things like that would def. be best suited to the control/configuration panel.  Whats the saying? K.I.S.S.?

On another note about having them in the skinfile...some people might not want to have icon reflections and if the maker of a skin has them in the skin file, someone would have to go in and edit the file to take them out.  Going back to my two points above.  I know I only like having reflections below my icons if I'm using a tray type dock.  They look stupid on a flat zoomer or tab IMO.

A simple check box to display reflections or not would be great.

...at least they are configurable...nice. hehheh...buttons,sliders and switches are nice tho...

Can't wait for this.  Awesome!

and a reflection opacity adjustment would also be nice.

mmmmm

Shiny...  Makes me actually want to use a background.  I usually just have my icons floating in mid-air.

That screenshot is great.

I always wanted to position the dock just above the taskbar...but OD couldnt tell when I was just headed for the taskbar .
