Stardock has released WindowBlinds 3.41. WindowBlinds is a program that allows Windows XP to support additional visual styles. And it turns Windows 98, ME, and 2000 into fully skinnable operating systems.

Version 3.41 has been designed to provider greater compatibility for Windows 98, ME systems. On Windows XP, closer integration to the OS has been achieved so that the classic title bar no longer shows up when a program is not responding or is hung.

WindowBlinds is part of Object Desktop or is available on its own.

Wonderful,

Should I uninstall my current version (3.4? enhanced) before installing this one?

Darn, it has some more problems with the new Nview 2 with the 40.41 nvidia drivers, especially
with mozilla. Other than that it runs fine .

I recommend not using nView as its very inefficient and seems to cause a lot of issues with a number of things.

I like that folder

but nview is the only thing I have for my dual monitor setup, therefore its quite a pain to have anoying little errors like maximizing properly.

ahhhh.. i just wish it could sikin the toolbar buttons background like windows visual style does... when are those guys in stardock going to implement that feature???? >

WindowBlinds can skin the toolbar buttons background.

In fact it has been able to do that since 3.0. I am not sure where people are getting the idea that WB cannot skin them as its 100% false.

I think he means the explorer bar. You know, that thing to the left that looks really colourful and cool with most msstyles, but with windowblinds its white & ugly, or luna-blue and out of place. That's really my only beef with windowblinds, and would love that to be skinned.

Cheers!

It's coming (the shellstyle). We could do it now but it would require using shellstyle.dll. While most sites don't seem to have a problem letting people distribute copyrighted DLLs around (shellstyle.dll is a Microsoft library that has not been licensed to be distributed) we can't really get into that. So we have to come up with a way to distribute the resources in shellstyle.dll without distributing the DLL itself (like .logonxp files).

One nice new feature in 3.41 is that in the Start menu the mouse over state can be skinned. In an msstyle it's just the plain ugly square highlight.

well i didn't mean that joe, but now u mentioned it... you are right... i forgot about that too... and.. if si possible to skin the tollbar background... well tell me how can i do ? coz i know i can skin the buttons... but not the complete background... the background is always on plains colors.... msstyles skin it with stripes, gradients and things like that... i bought object desktop so i'd prefere to use WB... but since it can't skin those parts... i don't use it... i'll use msstyles until WB brings that feature....

I shoulda figured there'd be some MS copyright BS floting around that pool . Oh well, great that you guys can work around it

Thanx for the reply. Cheers!

Unfortunately if you skin the logoff button you lose the skinned logoff *icons* mouseover state.

Does anyone know where I can get the Full version Product Key for WB 3.41?
