Poll Result: Why are you here?

The reason users are here does not necessarily coincide with what's available here.

That is, even with heavy moderation (only the best of the best wallpapers are allowed) there are more wallpapers here than any other library.

But only 11% of users said they are here primarily for the wallpapers.

Contract that with 30% of users being here for WindowBlinds skins.

Hardly anyone comes here mainly for the message boards which is a bit of a shame since there are so many good discussions on it.

Then again, 42% of users said they come here for multiple reasons such as downloading WindowBlinds skins, wallpapers, DesktopX themes and the message boards.

Incidentally, DesktopX had a pretty impressive showing with nearly 10% of respondants saying they come here mainly just for DesktopX stuff.

The new poll, btw, focuses on what OS would you pick if Windows was no longer an option.

Interestingly, Linux and Mac are nearly tied.

Maybe if you ask for the "second" reason it would be the discussions. I come for the skins, but I spend some time reading the message boards when I get to the web page. They are great!

I download wallpapers,logons and windowblinds. Talk on the message board, comment and rate on Walls, logons and skins. So I checked other.

I agree with the sentiment that the poll was a bit to focused on a few points. I marked other cos I come to browse through the message board, as well as several of the libarys, including desktop x stuff. I interpreted "other" as been all of these, which I think would be seen as better, as one is here for multiple reasons.

I hope you aren't trying to do a linear correlation of the responses and the offerings. Your poll method doesn't suit that kind of use. All you got there is a scattergram of indicators of the appeal of your various offerings. You can only really regard their totality, a sum that justifies high satisfaction I think. Any offerings that generated very low response levels can't be judged poorly because you have to assess what the probability was that a given offering was used but unselected because of attention to higher ranking offerings, even in a pick all that apply instrument. You must have cookie counts, or could have them, to truly assess the use levels of components, right? Polls such as these have validity only for promotional purposes, you know.

i've never made it to the message boards yet, but i come here almost every day to check up on new Cursor XP's, WindowBlinds, Icon Packages, Logons.

I take a peek at the Wallpapers from time to time- and i do appreciate what you mean about being more selective on Wallpapers. I can go anywhere to find a 3D Bryce Wallpaper, but they "get old" fast.

Anyway, i love this site
