This screenshot is of a test on low-end hardware (playing on my laptop) to see how well the game scales between relatively low-end hardware. As incredible the graphics are in Demigod, the hardware requirements are the same as Forged Alliance (Geforce 66x series / ATI Xanything or better).

But here's the first look at the Citadel upgrades coming in Beta 2.  The GPG team is working hard to get Beta 2 ready to go, there's just so much stuff coming together and we are pleased to mention that Demigod will be the first Stardock game with a worldwide release in multiple languages which is another reason Beta 2 is running a bit late - we're having to get all the translation stuff put together.

Stay tuned.

I for one would likely never invest any points into Increasing Spawn rates or Increasing the number of units spawned at any given time. I would simply view it as an oppurtunity for my enemy to gain more experience points. I would likely lean towards investing into more HP and Armor for my units so my enemies would get fewer experience points, due to the increased difficulty of the units they'll be facing. I'd also try to avoid investing into higher end units, such as healers, for a while because they also give nice big chunks of experience points as well.

In short, I'd try to use the upgrades to slow down my enemy's progress and income by giving them fewer things to kill.

Interesting indeed. But If I have fewer things to kill, I'll kill you more often and I'll be happy with the extra gold that your death gives to me.

WAIT!!!

I am more that happy to see citidel upgrades and more info but that brings me to the questions:

What if there are more that one players on a team, who decides on what upgrades to take?
Is the gold invested in the upgrade come from the team pool or from the one who chose the upgrades?

We should think about those problems

I can think on one solution, in which before the match the team deciced on a captain who choose the upgrades.

What do you think?

I think each player should get his/her own upgrades for their spawn

This is TEAMplay. So i guess the $$ for the citadel upgrade comes from the players. A wise team will discuss a strategy for buying citadel upgrade.

They will be verry hard to do because you have to think about your new armor or better creep on maps.

On my case, it will depends on the situation.

I'm really looking forward to putting this into practice.

I didnt see the info anywhere else, but will their be different factors that effect your war rank?

I.E. I know some flags were ment to, but it does slowly progress on it's own. Will there be other factors effecting WR advancement now?

I think the upgrades should be bought for the whole team, but on a upgrade by upgrade basis.  In other word I spend my own money and then I get to choose what upgrade get purchased.  That is the most straight forward and logical approach.  Although, I would love to see a setup where you can put 50% or some smaller increment toward a purchase and your team could do so as well, or if you like you could come back later to pay what your team did not.

on Dec 06, 2008

I'd love to be able to just toss 1k at an upgrade...intresting idea. Would give it more of a team money pool feel.

on Dec 07, 2008

I am sure that that is something technically feasible.  When we get the beta, we should request it.  That is ne of those tweaks that is more than reasonable.

on Dec 07, 2008

I'm 100% down for it. Given we havnt played Beta 2, but I can't see any balance issues with it.

on Dec 07, 2008

I think that u should be able to get them for yourself but if the majority of the team votes yes on getting an upgrade then a small amount will be taken or whatever amount to pay for it. If your team buy it it will cost less than everyone indivually buying it though.

on Dec 07, 2008

Hmm.

What if when The Forces of Light/Darkness finish off a Demigod, the gold for the kill is added to the team's coffers so that anyone on the Team could use that mula to purchase an upgrade.

I was never paying enough attention when it happened, but when the Forces of Light/Darkness kill a Demigod right now, I think it divies the money up amoung the team...I think. If not, this could be a cool way to have the towers/creeps killing someone more helpful.

on Dec 07, 2008

This is really really nice. I'd love to see it in action.

on Dec 07, 2008

Yah that could be an interesting idea.

I think each player should have there own portal and upgrades in a multiplayer game. Because I can tell you right now that if one person gets to use the updates in the Citadel that will be very lame and bad for this game.

The team will most certainly have a shared citadel.

You have strange and confusing ideas Ipromethus, and frequently make rude or overexagerated statements.  I am sure each person will NOT get their own portal.
