WOOOHOOOO!!!!

The graphics look strange, not bad but strange.

on Nov 04, 2008

It certainly looks interesting.

Wow... Graphical style is awesome! It ain't cel-shading... is it? Well anyway it looks good. I have a few questions about moddability later.

Name and backround story don't seem special (hopefully story's well written and gripping and plot's full of twists)  but if the gameplay rocks and it's VERY flexible for modding (unlike GC2, that's just changing stuff really, not adding new abilities or anything), the game's gonna rock.

I've already pre-ordered it already.

SWEET!!

Hell yeah! A Stardock fantasy strategy game! I'm definitely intrigued by the "researching magic and technology" aspect.

I'm not so sure about this...

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....

on Nov 05, 2008

Hurraaaaaaaaaay!

And it is in sweetest cell shading graphics! I'm in love!

Great news indeed! Preordered.

My initial impression is, a heros of might and magic knock off.

Your initial impression is thin and/or mean. And probably better directed at HoMM5, horrible insult to its predecessors that it was.

Are you just sublimating frustration over the break between GC2 2.0 and GC3? I'm all over this new project, but I really do feel for my fellows here who have no taste for the fantasy genre.

Q1 2010 release...is forever away.  <cry>

I don't think it is anything wrong if Elemental is either a Heroes of MIght and Magic or Age of Wonders  or GC2 set in a fantasy kingdom knock off, afterall, it is a sci-fi/fantasy game and there are certain things to be expected.  When Lost Empire Immortals was coming out, my friend saw the trailer and said "man..can't people think of anything more original for the game's background premise, that there is a war because of some ancient divine powerful beings getting pissed off at each other, etc etc"  Well..i told him a lot of things in Sci-fi and fantasy has been done, the more important thing is for each time the game is being built, how a developer reinterpret those already done elements, that is more important.

I mean seriously, what are really the differences between Command and Conquer vs. Starcraft, if you strip down the game playing elements to its bare essentials.  The answer is, that the two are nearly identical.  But..ask anyone who have played both of these games, they probably tell you that the two games are as different as night and day, even though the premise of the game mechanics are very closely related to each other between the two.
