The Thinkpad T400 laptop from Lenovo is brand new. It's a great laptop - best I've owned so far though it's a little glitchy right now with docking stations.

The gotcha I've had is that it only has two DIMM slots (two memory slots). It requires DDR3 memory too.  But this week, Crucial has started selling 4 GB memory DIMMS (so I can now get 8 gigs).  So I have the order in and hopefully this week I'll be able to upgrade.

I realize this seems incredibly geeky but I'm very excited about going up to 8 gigs. Vista 64 has performed marvelously and having a ton of free RAM for caching is likely to have a significant performance benefit.

Stay tuned.

geek on........I hear ya man!    I'm still drooling over the Acer Aspire ONE's I bought a couple of months back.  (the 120GB HD version).  It's perfect for my day-to-day stuff.  I didn't want to have to carry a briefcase and notebook backpack.  The ONE fits prefectly inside my briefcase!
