Brad Wardell's site for talking about the customization of Windows.

It’s no secret forums have seen a serious decline in recent years versus social media. Which is a shame because social media is so impersonal.

I think this year I’m going to focus more time hanging out here.

Can't risk everything if I change phones numbers, or if yahoo makes me change my email password, and I forget it. It's not worth it.

Password managers are your friends. Except the ones built into your web browser.

Glad to hear that Brad will be around here more often.  I go back to the OS2 days with Stardock.  I do have a Facebook account just to keep up with what my grown kids and my son's business are doing.  But even on Facebook I'm not really me, if you know what I mean.

Personally I miss the old email mailing lists.  Those worked really well for me.  Now it's forums like this one since the email lists have died.

Don't know why someone even posted again here, this thread was started over 3 years ago.

You're right.  I didn't even look at the origin date.  It showed up with a new reply.  Of course something like his happens on all forums.

Thread Necromancy, a long standing tradition in forums.

Usually they are resurrected by spammers. ... this one may prove to be yet another....

What's the problem with that?

What's the problem with that?

Often the topic bears no relevance to the present day.

Eg.  "Windowblinds 1 doesn't work on XP and needs to be updated"...

We have a process in place that archives threads where no replies have been made in 12 months...so often the only way they come back again is by a 'topic search' initiated by a Spam Bot...

By the way....I was correct.  The thread was idle since 2019...then a spammer brought it back [now removed]...
